On Diversity

As an axiom, Americans accept diversity as a hallmark of tolerance. Not just as means to an end, but as an unquestionable, implicitly stated goal itself in its own right. We strive to have diverse schools, and a diverse workforce, claiming that diversity is creative: a diverse group can approach problems from different angles and can come up with the more varying solutions as opposed to a group of contributors with uniform upbringing. Perhaps. There are several assumptions inferred in the scenario projected onto the screen of our collective minds. It is similar to a school project -   multiple students working together as a group, competing against other groups to solve a challenging moonshot problem, and gets first place for submitting a strikingly creative solution first.
